The questions below are designed to help you understand how I work, what you can expect, and whether this is the right fit for the issue, decision or pressure you are dealing with.
My work is diagnostic, decision-led and practical. It is designed to help you understand what is really happening, what needs to be decided, and what action should follow.
What kind of problems do people usually bring to you?
People usually come to me when something is not working, but the cause is not clear.
That may look like stalled growth, unclear roles, rework, team pressure, service delivery issues, decision fatigue, change resistance, poor implementation, customer experience problems or a business that feels heavier than it should.
My work helps identify what is really driving the pressure, what decision needs to be made, and what practical action should follow.
What if I cannot clearly explain the problem yet?
That’s ok because that’s often the best place to start.
You don’t need to arrive with the perfect explanation. Many business owners, leaders and teams know something is off before they can clearly name the cause.
The first step is to sort through the pressure, patterns and symptoms so we can identify the real gap behind the issue.
Is this business coaching, consulting or advisory?
My work sits across diagnostic consulting, decision advisory and practical facilitation.
It is not traditional coaching, motivation or general business mentoring. I help you examine the current state and future state, identify the real issue, clarify the decision in front of you and move toward practical action.
Do you help with change management?
Yes. Absolutely.
I support change management by helping leaders and teams understand what is changing, why it matters, who is impacted, what decisions are needed and what practical steps are required.
This may include change readiness, stakeholder alignment, leadership workshops, communication planning, action planning and implementation support.
I do not treat change as a communication exercise only. I look at the people, process, decision and delivery gaps that may affect whether the change will actually work.
Do you help with service improvement and design?
Yes.
I support service improvement, service review and service design work. This may include understanding the current state, identifying pain points, reviewing processes, clarifying roles, mapping service gaps, facilitating stakeholder input, identifying options and recommending practical improvements.
This work is useful for councils, government teams, service-based organisations, not-for-profits and businesses that need to improve how a service, process or team is working.
Do you facilitate workshops?
Yes, I facilitate sessions for leaders, teams, boards, business owners and service groups.
Workshops can focus on decision-making, change readiness, service improvement, business clarity, operating model issues, team alignment, leadership reset or action planning.
Do you provide a report after the session?
Yes, where it is part of the agreed engagement.
Shorter sessions may include a written summary, action notes or key next steps. Diagnostic reviews, workshops and organisational engagements may include a more detailed report with themes, findings, options, risks, recommendations and an action pathway.
The level of reporting depends on the purpose and scope of the work.
Will I leave with practical actions?
Yes.
The purpose of the work is not just to talk through the issue. It is to clarify what is happening, what decision is needed and what action should follow.
Depending on the engagement, you may leave with next steps, decision options, priorities, actions, workshop outputs, recommendations or an implementation pathway.
Do you provide templates, tools or resources?
Yes, where relevant.
Depending on the engagement, I may provide practical tools, templates, worksheets and/or decision aids to support the work. These may include action plans, decision tools, journey mapping, readiness checks, gap prompts, workshop outputs or implementation guides.
Some tools are part of my R.E.S.E.T. Your Thinking® intellectual property and are used within the engagement where appropriate.
What is R.E.S.E.T. Your Thinking®?
R.E.S.E.T. Your Thinking® is my registered framework and intellectual property.
It helps individuals, leaders and teams pause, recognise what is really happening, examine the issue, sort through options, establish the next decision and take practical action.
It is especially useful when people are stuck, overwhelmed, reacting to pressure or trying to make sense of a complex issue.
Can I buy your R.E.S.E.T. tools or templates separately?
Some resources may be available through the R.E.S.E.T. Resource Vault.
Other tools, frameworks and diagnostic materials are proprietary and are used within consulting, facilitation or advisory engagements where relevant.
Do you work online or in person?
Both.
Online sessions work well for business clarity sessions, mentoring, advisory work, planning, follow-up sessions, workshops and facilitation.
In-person sessions are also available for workshops, facilitation, leadership sessions and organisational work where being in the room will add value.
The format will depend on the purpose of the work, who is involved and what will work best for the situation.
Do you travel for workshops or facilitation?
Yes.
I am based in Victoria on the Mornington Peninsula and can travel for in-person workshops, facilitation and organisational engagements.
Travel outside my local area is quoted separately and agreed before the engagement is confirmed.
What industries have you worked with?
I have worked across australian and state government, local government, automotive, IT, employment services, logistics, professional services, community services, health-related services, education and training, small business, not-for-profit and service-based environments.
The common thread is not the industry. It is the need to understand what is really happening, make better decisions and move forward with practical action.
Do you work with councils, government or regulated environments?
Yes.
My background includes australian and state government, local government, service improvement, governance, project environments, facilitation and business advisory work.
I understand the importance of context, stakeholders, risk, decision pathways, documentation and practical implementation.
Do you work with small business owners and founders?
Yes.
I work with business owners and founders who need clarity around growth, delivery, pricing, structure, service design, customer experience, role clarity, decision-making or the next stage of the business.
This work is especially useful when the business has become too dependent on the owner or too reactive or when it is no longer clear what is working, what is not, and what needs attention next.
Do you work with leadership teams?
Yes.
I work with leadership teams that need to clarify what is happening, align around priorities and decisions, improve ways of working, prepare for change or move from discussion into action.
This may involve facilitated workshops, leadership sessions, current-state reviews, change readiness work, service improvement, planning or structured action sessions.
Do you provide legal, HR or financial advice?
No.
I do not provide legal, HR, accounting or financial advice. Where those areas are involved, I can help clarify the issue, decision, risks, options and next steps, but specialist advice should be obtained where required.
Do you make the decision for me?
No.
My role is to help you clarify the decision, understand what is influencing it, examine the options, identify risks and move toward practical action.
The decision remains with the business owner, leader, board and/or organisation.
Do you offer ongoing support?
Yes, where it makes sense.
Ongoing support may be available after a Business Diagnostic, workshop, review or other engagement where continued involvement would help with implementation, decision-making, priorities, progress or leadership support.
The type and level of support will depend on what is needed and will be agreed with you before we continue.
How do I know which option is right for me?
You do not need to work that out before we talk.
If you know something needs attention but are not sure what kind of help you need, you can start with a complimentary 20-minute Introductory Conversation.
We can briefly talk about what is happening and where you may need support.
This is an introductory conversation, not a consulting or advisory session. There is no charge and no obligation to continue.
From there, the next step may be a Business Clarity Session, a deeper Business Diagnostic, or work with your organisation, leadership team or service, depending on what is actually needed.
