Purpose

Most people don’t start the year overloaded.

They carry overload forward.

This is a short R.E.S.E.T. to help you decide what no longer earns a place.

What You’re Still Carrying

List the things that are following you into the new year: unfinished, unresolved, or unquestioned.

  • Decisions that were postponed
  • Commitments that feel heavier than they should
  • Work that no longer fits your direction
  • Responsibilities you accepted by default

The Three Filters

For each item, ask yourself:

  • Does this still matter or did it just never get closed?
  • Does this require my thinking, or just my time?
  • What is this quietly displacing?

Then place each item into one category:

  • Carry forward (deliberate, necessary, aligned)
  • Close (decide, finish, or formally end)
  • Release (no longer yours to carry)

No justification required.
Just honesty.

One Decision to Take With You

The most important output of this R.E.S.E.T. isn’t a list.

It’s a decision.

Consider:

What will I no longer carry forward?

Clarity doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from choosing deliberately.

Aligned to the R.E.S.E.T. way of thinking: clarity before action.
