Different things motivate different people…

We are all unique in what motivates us and lights us up. It’s a learned behaviour through culture and life experiences.

➡️Some people are motivated by rewards

➡️Some by being part of a team, a community

➡️And others by their own creativity

Successful managers, take the time to learn and identify what their team, clients and/or consumer behaviors, needs, wants and motivations are.

They watch, observe and ask all the right questions to identify what motivates people and as a result, they gradually start to learn what energises them from the inside out.

Notice: 

  • What motivates you?
  • Is your motivation extrinsic or intrinsic?

Take a moment now:

  • List all the people you manage
  • What motivates them?
  • What are their needs and wants?
  • What lights them up?

If you are unsure:

  • Engage and ask great questions – inductive questions
